Victoria is about to begin her third year at Princeton University where last year she accepted the task of directing a production of In the Heights to rave reviews! Her summer has been quite amazing:
"I am currently in Epidavros, Greece, where I have been studying Greek tragedy for over 5 weeks now. As a culmination of my study, I will be performing as Dionysus in a production of the Bacchae in the ancient Epidavros theatre, pictured below!
Learning and performing in Greek has been a considerable challenge that has taught me to pay critical attention to the connotations that each word brings to the table when used in a play. Every word in Greek tragedy, much like the plays of today, is rooted in culture and in struggle, and so I find myself more prepared to continue to write scholarship and engage in conversations regarding the continuing importance of theatre and particularly, its necessity in underprivileged communities.
Words can barely express how grateful I am to Glass Theatre for welcoming an extremely science and math focused senior into its family -- I would not be the person I am or have the opportunities I have now without the experiences and strength that GT graciously lent me." ...
