Auditions: Leading Ladies by Ken Ludwig
December 4 @ 2:45 pm - 5:00 pm
An event every day that begins at 2:45pm, repeating until December 5, 2018
Auditions are open to all E.C. Glass High School students. Students will be required to complete and turn in an audition form (PDF) before they can audition.
Two down on their luck English actors, Jack and Leo, find themselves performing Shakespeare for the Moose Lodge circuit in Amish Pennsylvania. When they learn that the wealthiest (dying) old lady in York, PA hopes to gift her fortune to long lost relatives, the two hatch a plan to disguise themselves as her nieces to claim the inheritance. Romantic entanglements abound. Mistaken identity, physical comedy, and fast paced entrance and exits ensue. Requires a great sense of fun, focus, physical comedy and language. Great comedic roles for young men and women! Think of these films: “Tootsie”, “Mrs.Doubtfire”, “Some Like it Hot” or “White Chicks”
Perusal scripts are available to check out for 24 hours in Mr. Worley’s office
Audition material will be posted on call board Monday 12/3 and on Glasstheatre.org

DOC MYERS – The country doctor. Cantankerous, likeable curmudgeon. Spars with Duncan and Florence. Father to Butch. Also plays a “rollicking” Sir Toby Belch in the Twelfth Night scenes.
BUTCH MYERS A former high school football star. Not the brightest bulb. Earnest, sincere, with a big heart. Loves Audrey. Comedic in his awkward attempt as Andrew Aguecheek in Twelfth Night.

**In Farce, characters take themselves seriously despite ridiculous situations. LEO and JACK have English accents. Both play Stephanie and Maxine like their lives depend on it. LEO, JACK and MEG have a gift for speaking Shakespeare; the others, less so. Don’t stress about the English accent. Give it a whirl-we’ll work on it. HAVE FUN!!
